Yes, this is not the normally weekly article, but this is not a normal week. The computer has a regular play on Pittsburgh, at the Westgate Contest line of -3.5. Obviously, that is not the line today. I am on the Steelers at -10 as well. I realize it has climbed to 10.5, but I just do not see how the Ravens can score today. If you like the Ravens, maybe focus on their team total that is close to 15 or so points. I will be on my Steelers.

Some weeks you just do not have a good handle on the NFL slate. Last weekend, maybe I was distracted by the election. Maybe, I just did not like the games. No matter the issues, you have to fight through it. You do not have to bet games at all really, you do not. However, in picks leagues you do have to make choices. I did horribly last week in those picks leagues. My largest best of the weekend was a money line parlay of Pittsburgh, KC, NE, HOU, and Tennessee. It paid over +200 and was a massive sweat. Nevertheless, we got there. Yes, I won some other bets, but my, I had so many fewer wagers than a normal NFL weekend. It is perfectly fine to slow down and not bet the same every weekend. I just did not really feel comfortable about anything. I had bet the Dolphins earlier in the week and by Sunday morning, I had lost confidence in that wager. They won outright. This week I feel much better.

Obviously, things may not work out. This week, I love a few games. I absolutely love the Rams. I also love the Dolphins. I like the Niners. I know San Fran is missing like half their team, but I trust my computer model on that one. It certainly feels like the Cardinals are the correct side in their game with the Bills, but I am staying away from that. The PGA restarted their season in mid-June and it was the first thing we could really bet on in a while. I have dabbled in golf betting, especially during the summer, but during our COVID break, I really got into it. Of course, I could not have done it without Numberball.com and Josh Culp’s articles. His weekly breakdowns and projections are exceptional. Since that June 14, restart there have been 14 tournaments in the 2019-2020 season and eight in the 2020-2021 season. That is 22 golf tournaments. In those 22 events, I have bet on the winner of six of them. Have I made bets every week? No, I took some weeks off when the field was a little softer and with football back. While six winners in over 20 events may not seem that great, it is in golf, especially when you consider the odds.

So what happens this week? Does Bryson just crush the field and course? I hope so. I did something with Bryson this week I would not advise people do very often. I could not stomach betting him at 8/1. I parlayed Bryson with a bunch of football money lines to boost his number to a spot I really like. Not all books will let you do this, but FD and DK will. Having Bryson at 43/1 seems good. I do like DJ as well and have no issue betting him. I just think this is Bryson’s spot to breakthrough and be the star of the golf world. He has an early tee time tomorrow so we shall see.

I have just decided to go all in on Bryson this week. It feels almost too public and too many people are on him. I do not care. Sometimes you have to just make a decision and go with it. Normally, that decision is Tyler Lockett vs. DK Metcalf. You pick a side and go full throttle.  I have Bryson in every lineup on Fan Duel. I have Bryson in every lineup on Draft Kings. In every Masters pool I am in, I took him. I bet him, I bet his odds boosts, I bet some of his matchups. Liking Bryson this week is not revolutionary, but what he may to do Augusta National the next few days just might be.

In the time of COVID 19, it is vital to be ready to make a bet at all times. On Monday morning, I saw GB -3 at San Fran from Thursday. That did not smell right. I bet it. I checked out the Niners injuries and consulted with others and that line seemed wrong. I went to bet it again and took GB-3.5. News hit soon after and all the sudden it was Packers -7. I got the best of the line by looking at all the information and taking advantage. While both numbers came in, I always want to have the best of it.

On the other hand, when the Matthew Stafford news hit, I jumped on Vikings -4. Now, Stafford may end up playing and I may have a wager, I do not really like. The line has been pulled, but may open at Vikings -4.5 if you can find it. Was I wrong to try to beat the Stafford news? No. As soon as this information hits you have a few minutes at most to take advantage. I did and will continue to do so. Always be aware and prepared to fire on a number, even if you do not like the game, if the line is going to be altered. I am looking for the value above all else.

It felt like I was on an island with Tampa Bay last weekend. I think besides Jeff Collins and myself the rest of the world was on Green Bay. That worked out very well. There can be a massive edge to be on the opposite side of the public in certain situations when betting NFL games. However, the public will be right too. While Tampa Bay was not a public side last week, it certainly will be this week. The Bucs broke the computer model this week and it expects Tampa Bay to easily win and cover against the Raiders. This is a massive public side, my computer loves it and it feels almost too easy. I am scared of the Bucs this week, despite the COVID situation for the Raiders. I feel like every week gets weirder. I am not talking about the current political situation in America, but instead about the NFL and COVID. Games are moving; lines are missing, or changing dramatically. Does anyone know who the Patriots QB will be this week? Is Jimmy G back? There are so many question marks and injuries. If I could advise you of anything, it would be pay attention to the injuries on the offensive and defensive line. The Cowboys look like they are in a smash spot for their offense, but their entire offensive line is hurt.

This week we only have three games with spreads under six points at the time of writing. When it seems too easy to just tease a few teams together and have them win, it usually is. Does that mean I am going to recommend a teaser? Oh, you know it!
