Fan Duel has Alabama to win the college football championship tonight boosted to -110 (Max bet $50). You could take Bama for $50. The bet OSU +8.5 for $50 and try to middle the game! That is what I will do. If Alabama wins, you lose $5. If OSU wins, you lose $5. If Alabama wins by 1-8 points, you win $100. Therefore, by betting both sides you are risking $5 to win $100.

Draft Kings has a 50% live bet boost. I thought about waiting and using it on OSU with the above FD boost to improve my situation. However, I want to make sure the spread does not drop and I have a larger middle window of 1-8 points.

I ended up on Boise State -19 last night and they won by exactly 19 points. Were they up 25 with 2:30 left and proceeded to miss every shot the rest of the game. While not losing is great, that should have been a win.

On the NBA side, day two of the model went very well at 7-4 with the highest rated play being a large dog that won outright, again. The Embiid and Sixers boost ended up coming in too. I hope this trend continues, but I am still going to proceed with caution on the model, as this is a long season. The perfect example is the Cavs today as they have the highest grade. This is a road back-to-back for the Cavs and they have a ton of injuries. Additionally, the Lakers have listed both LeBron James and Anthony Davis as questionable for tonight. Obviously, if they sit then taking the Lakers would not make a ton of sense. This game opened at around 9-points and we are down to 5.5, which I think you know what that means.

What a great start for the new NBA model going 4-1. It is extremely early obviously and it is a long season. I am hopeful with this model, but we shall see.

Betting basketball, especially the NBA is wildly different from the NFL. Obviously, there are more games and teams can afford to rest or lose several games along the way. Often, I will bet a game early in the morning, only to see a player ruled out later and are stuck with a bad number, which becomes a loser. It happens. When building an NBA model, when you run the model can have the same affect. The spreads drift throughout the day with resting news and injury information coming up as the day progresses. I want you to all be aware that we kept our NFL model data to ourselves for years. I think it took around two years before we felt like we knew what it was saying. We are trying to replicate that success with an NBA model, but there is going to be some growing pains. To explain simply, tread lightly.

This is a really fair number for Simmons in all three areas. FD has this as 31.5 and it is -108. I think this is worth a small investment.

The real odds on this are around +169 or so depending upon where you look. I think you are safe on two of these games, but then you could always bet the Mavs and the points and try to middle it if the first two are looking good. I have officially talked myself into this one, max is $25 though.

Week 17 is weird in a normal year. This year with Covid is even more bizarre. Alvin Kamara will miss the Saints game this week and can only play next week if New Orleans plays on Sunday. I bet the NFL makes that happen. Please be hyper-aware of motivation, bonuses and resting. Lines are going to look a little strange, but please research and understand why.
