I am inside the top ten in my larger contests. It is going to be tough, but we still need to take a bye week and have five weeks left in the season! We can do this. However, our survivor season ended with the Raiders last night. Oh well.
This is a week with several teams on the bye so it can be even harder to pick five games against the spread, with fewer options.
My Steelers are home favorites against the Baltimore Ravens. Is there a doubt here? Tyler Huntley, come on down. Steelers -2.5. I am in. I am ready to get hurt, but the Steelers have been good to me this year.
The Bills lost to the Jets, the Jets upgraded their quarterback and the line is still 9.5. The Jets feel like a public dog and I am scared of this game on either side. Pass for now.
I do not know what to make of this game. I though the Bengals may be the correct side, but the line is going the other direction. This feels like a stay away, but my reasons for being on Cleveland remain intact from a few weeks ago. I wonder if the Browns offense will be better, because it cannot be any worse.
I am staying away here. You can throw the Cowboys in ML parlays and such, but this is too large of a spread. Pass.
The Vikings are going to be caught. Everything keeps breaking their way at the exact same time. The Jets had two possessions end inside the Vikings red zone. The Bills fumble in their own end zone. The Patriots rough the punter. How many times will this keep happening for the Bills? You know whom the public will be on. I like Detroit -2.5.
Who will play QB for the Jags? It appears to be Trevor Lawrence, but nothing confirmed. This feels like a typical Titans smash spot with the Jags struggling on the road. Pass for now.
The Giants cannot stop the pass. The Giants may not have Barkley. I am not laying a touchdown on the road. That is where we are with the NFL pass for me.
I can take a home dog getting almost ten points and it is not the Texans? I am in! The Chiefs are good. This is scary. I like the Broncos, but I may chicken out.
I am not playing the Bucs, as they cannot score at all. I lean the Niners and Brock Purdy. Pass for now.
Why do I want to take Sam Darnold on the road? Help. Seattle without any RB’s and this line feels too small. It makes me want to take the Panthers defense and now floundering Seattle defense. Lean Carolina.
The Chargers as home dogs when no one likes them. I do. I am going to assume Mike Williams is back and the Chargers will score. This feels like a close game, but the Chargers are in must win territory. I am on LAC +3.5.
I hate the Cardinals. I have been saying Kliff was awful for years. However, the Patriots struggle with mobile QB’s. The Cardinals offense is going to as healthy as it has been all year besides Zach Ertz. I can take a home dog on MNF and despite my hate for Arizona I like them. Cards +2 on my short list.
