This is 40 Either team to score 40+ in any quarter ATL/PHO +315 (FD)
The last time they offered this boost it was not great. Neither team really had or had given up a 40-point quarter. In this case, with these two teams it does happen a little more often. Yet, it is not often enough. The game does have a low spread and total that is not incredibly high at 227.5. While the Suns have had a few 40+-point quarters, there just are not enough to justify this wager at this price. Bill Simmons and FD need to raise the payout slightly, or pick a different game when they do this weekly. Pass for me.

Russ to record a triple-double and Wizards to win +305 (DK)
This is the game to do the 40+ boos on. Russ is going to get a triple-double and he is -185 to do so. The Wizards are small dogs in this game. If you parlay the Wizards and Russ here, it should pay +266. This is a boost, but such a small one. I am passing on asking the Wizards to beat the Bucks. Pass for me.

This should pay +244 so it is a boost. Yet, why am I scared of the Knicks? For some reason, I hate going against them. Perhaps the reason is the model always seems to like the Knicks. You can fire on this if you want, but I am staying away. If you told me in December I would be afraid of two games because of the Wizards and Knicks, I would have said you were insane.

This should pay +176. Philly and Utah are going to win. This to me is the Suns as a small road dog against a team I do not believe in. Yes, I am talking about Atlanta. I refuse to admit they are playing better since firing their coach. I refuse to believe they matter in any substantial way headed toward the playoffs. I believe the Suns want to win and become the number one seed. However, this being a back-to-back for the Suns coming off an overtime game feels like a great spot to avoid. I really want to fire, but I am holding back. Pass.

Pass.

Betts is -270 to record a hit.

It is NFL Draft Day! In theory, I should be sitting on my couch, or hanging with friends and watching the night’s drama unfold. Yet, that will not be happening. My daughter has a softball game that is almost an hour away and by the time, we get home and the kids get to sleep, I hope I see the Steelers pick live.  

I kind of want to fire up the movie Draft Day to get ready. “I want all my picks back and David Putney!”

While we cannot legally bet on the NFL, or any draft in the state of Pennsylvania, I know some of you are in states where you can make these wagers. In an effort to assist and look at the betting options, I figured we could go through the Draft Kings Sports Book NFL Draft Pool and sprinkle some bets based upon the best information we have at the time.

Until the draft starts, let’s have some fun and build the pile!

Who will the Steelers pick?
An offensive player selected by the Steelers is -250 in the first round. Many people have either Najee Harris, or an offensive lineman. Nevertheless, what if that is wrong? What if it is Zaven Collins? The Steelers have always drafted the best player available and not necessarily for need. Peter Schrager actually has the Steelers trading up for Harris in the final mock draft. THAT IS INSANE. If they trade up for a running back in the year 2021, I have plenty of questions. Multiple mock drafts have the Jets taking a RB right before the Steelers. I hope that happens. We have also heard Buffalo and TB may take a RB at the end of round one as well. Maybe, the threat of the Steelers taking a RB is enough that the Steelers can move back. Collins has been linked to the Cardinals, so he may not even be there. I think if Collins falls, the Steelers actually draft a LB. My hope is best available offensive lineman. This could be any of the tackles that will be left, or Alabama Center Landon Dickerson. I am happy if it is anyone but a RB. If it is a RB, I will be opening an adult beverage immediately.

DK Draft Pool Picks
1. Who will be the 2^nd pick?
Just lock in Zach Wilson and move on. It certainly seems we know the first three picks.

2. Who will be the 3^rd pick?
Look, I do not get the Mac Jones love. Kyle Shanahan loves him and allegedly, Trey Lance has crept into their thoughts. This is the head coaches hand pick QB and people always come back to where they started with this stuff. Mac Jones.

3. Who will be the 4^th pick?
Kyle Pitts. Yes, Atlanta may work a trade and a QB could easily go here. I believe that Arthur Smith loves tight ends, or in this case a massive offensive weapon that can be extremely versatile.

4. Who will be the 5^th pick?
Ja’Marr Chase. If it were me, I would pick an offensive lineman to protect my star QB. Yet, everything we read and hear says that the value on the line in the 15-60 range is massive. If that is the case and only a few special WR’s are in this draft, then I get making this pick.

5. Who will be the first WR Drafted?
Chase. More weapons for the Bengals.

6. Who will be the first RB drafted?
Please. Please. Please. I am begging you Pittsburgh Steelers, do not do it. Have I made it clear how I feel? I am hopeful; another team feels that drafting a RB in round one is vital to their improvement. I believe the Steelers are smart enough to not draft a RB in round one. Am I misguided? Perhaps. Have you ever heard anyone say, “we would have won if we had a better running back?” Conversely, you have heard someone say, “We would have won if we had an offensive line.” I am going Najee Harris here, but I hope it is to Miami, New York, or Buffalo.

7. Who will be the first defensive player drafted?
Parsons is the most talented, but has the most red flags. Jaycee Horn has been rising up the draft boards of plenty of teams, but is it enough to land here? I am going safe and selecting Patrick Surtain II. Of course, if you want to cash in these pools you need to be unique. After all, I am the winner of the one and only Real Housewives of New York Pool DK Sportsbook ran a year ago.

8. Which player will be selected first?
This question features QB’s 3-5. I believe the Mac Jones love is true in San Fran. I am staying with it here. Mac Jones.

9. How many QB’s will be drafted in the 1^st round?
Under 5.5. Under 5.5 is like -500 at the moment. Every year, people try to push another QB into the end of the first round. I am not buying it.

10. Total Number of 1^st round picks traded after 8:00 PM?
This only counts on trades made after the draft starts. I think that since we have already had a few trades, I am leaning toward under 6.5 trades here.

What Draft Odds Currently Say
Depending upon your location and books, there are going to be stale numbers. If you hear about a trade, or see it whispered on Twitter, I would rush to your book to make a wager. As always, shop around for the best price. Mac Jones is up to -400 to go third overall. In some spots, he is only -200. Shop around as always.
Pitts is only -150 to go fourth overall. Seems like that may indicate a trade.
Chase is now favored to be the fourth pick, but it is only -140.
Trey Lance appears to be firmly ahead of Justin Fields. I would but over on Fields draft position, which is all over the place on different sites.
On one site, the Steelers are -350 to draft offense with their first pick, on another they are -230.

These lesser known events are kind of a letdown after last week’s weird group event. I am happy to be back betting individuals though and am ready to return to the winners circle. We also have the return of PGA odds boosts!

I will break down my wager by location, so you can get the best number possible. I am taking some shots here in each range, as you will see.

I am all about the sites having PGA odds boosts every week! If they do, I will continue to break them down as well. PGA betting is something I started a few years back and really enjoy. All you need is to hit one winner to have a great year, depending upon the price. Last year, obviously, I picked more than a few winners. I am going to list the other bets I continue to make of top 20’s, top 10’s, etc. I had only been listing my outrights, but I will now list everything.

This should pay +102 or so. These are literally four of the top five betting favorites for this event and Corey Conners is actually third highest for his make the cut odds. This is a solid boost, it is asking people who should be in contention to just make the weekend. I am in.

JT/Reed/Homa to all make the cut +170 (FD)
Homa is the real question here as he is only -154 to make the cut this weekend. This parlay should pay +125. Homa has made 10/15 cuts this year. Homa has been playing very well this season, but has not played since the Masters where he finished 55^th. Coming off two missed cuts and three weeks of rest, I am hesitant to back Homa here. Yet, if I believe that JT and Reed are going to make the cut, as I bet in the boost above, then I can look at this as Homa to make the cut at +170. I am in.

On the surface I was thinking this might be a good bet. Teams have been scoring in bunches and there have been an incredible amount of points in games featuring the Wizards. Then, I looked into the two teams. The Wizards have a grand total of zero 40+ point quarters in their last ten games. Why did I pick ten games? That is after the trade deadline and when the Wizards have played much better. Conversely, the Lakers also have zero 40+ point quarters. However, the Lakers did give up one 40+-point quarter to the Magic of all teams. If this boost was set to 36 or 38 points, then it would be a different story. Nevertheless, I like it when you something has happened before often, before I bet it will happen again. Alternatively, at the very least, I need odds to make it worth my while. Pass on this boost.

If you parlay these two, it should pay +246. This is a boost, but we need to look at the game pace and total. This game features a total of only 208 points. Ugh. The Knicks are very slow and play excellent defense. I get it if you want to play this, but I just cannot get behind this one. Pass for me.

Booker’s points prop is set to 27.5 and the under is slightly juiced.
The Suns are small four-point favorites tonight.
If you parlay this combo it should pay +125. Leonard is still out and the Suns are coming home after a long road trip. This feels like a good spot to be on Phoenix and this boost. For the Booker piece to come in, he can miss his prop by two points and still be fine. I am in.



Randle and Vuc to combine for 20+ rebounds -121 (DK)
Randle’s rebound prop is set to 9.5.
Vuc’s rebound prop is set to 11.5 and the under is juiced.
If you parlay them to each have ten rebounds, it should pay +162. Yes, this wager is combined though. I cannot get behind this at the price at -121. I would rather bet the parlay at +162. Pass for me.

This parlay should pay +207. All three teams are favored and at home. I like this. I am in.

I will say this again, Embiid does not dunk as often as you think. He dunks once every other game. Pass for me.


Zion 3+ dunks and Jokic to record a triple-double +450 (Fox)
What even is this boost? How dumb. We know Zion dunks around 2.5 times a game based on what he has done this season. I am passing on this for the fact it is a dunk involved prop. For what it is worth, Jokic is about +185 to record a triple-double. I am passing.

Harper to hit a HR and Phillies to win +715 (DK)
Harper is +290 to hit a HR.
The Phillies are -108 tonight.
This parlay combo should pay +461. This is a sizeable boost as they normally are. This game has a total of 8.5 runs. Harper has six HR this year and four have been on the road. I am going to take a shot here. These are lower HR odds on Harper. I am in.

LAD/PIT/NYM to all win +350 (Fox)
This parlay should pay +315. However, I know the Pirates have been better, but I can not put them in any kind of wager at this time. Pass for me.


Seager/Merrifield/JD to all have a hit +150 (Fox)
Seager is -260 to record a hit.
Merrifield is -310 to record a hit.
JD is -185 to record a hit.
