We are finally here! The NBA playoffs are so much fun. There is nothing like the constant flow of games every night from now until the first weekend of June. Last year was the first time the finals were not extremely profitable for me. I was all over the Celtics, but they ran out of gas and Curry is still Curry. Hopefully, we can go on a nice profitable run over the next two months for this stretch. Tonight, I am playing the Bulls in the play-in games. Miami has struggled all year as a favorite and Chicago is playing well and scoring. The Bulls won the season series 3-0, which is not always indicative of anything due load management and the fact one of the games was in October.
As for every single round one series, here we go:
Bucks in 5.
Cavs in 6.
Sixers in 6.
Celtics in 5.
Nuggets in 4.
Suns in 5.
Kings in 7.
Lakers in 7.
The East in round one seems very straightforward to me. Unless the Sixers collapse, which normally happens in round two, or something really weird happens in New York, I expect zero upsets.
The West is a different story. Denver is going to win easily. The Suns should beat the PG-less Clippers without issue. They have not lost a game that matters with KD at this point. The other side of the bracket is going to be very interesting. No one believes in the Kings. No one. They are a small dog in game one. They are a dog to win the series. The Warriors still struggle on the road. This could go horribly wrong as I keep fading the old Warriors. In worked when I was on the Raptors and KL several years ago. It obviously, failed last June. I am taking the team no one likes that can score with anyone. Defense is a different story. This is going to be the most fun series, besides maybe one other in round one.
The Lakers were dead. This team had no versatility and was in serious trouble prior to the trade deadline. Now, the Lakers can matchup with different types of teams and have two guys who can for sure win you a series. Health should not be an issue in round one for LeBron and AD. Memphis is missing Brandon Clarke, Steven Adams and some of the depth that made them a juggernaut the last two years. Can Memphis be more than a regular-season team? If the Lakers can slow these games down, they can easily win. The series price makes the Lakers barely a dog. I am here for the Kings/Lakers second round series. There will be a few old clips of games I remember watching from the early 2000’s.
